If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. In the Windows Features dialog box, uncheck all of the check boxes, and then click OK. Click "Turn Windows features on or off on the left" pane.Ĥ. Click Classic View on the left pane, and double click Program and Features.ģ. Turn off Windows features before performing an In-place UpgradeĢ. We can have a try to see if the issue works. However, it is recommended to first backup your important information and files to other partitions or other disks. The In-place Upgrade will not affect settings like photos, movies, documents, etc. Through the special upgrade process, we will be able to repair the system. Regarding In-place Upgrade, it is a tool to repair the system. If the issue persists, please perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows 7. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

Please check if the issue occurs in Clean Boot. If the issue persists after upgrading the BIOS, chipset, and device drivers from Dell, the issue can be related to the software installed. If you're not sure how to do that, let us know. Also verify any driver you install with the driver version on dell's web site (of anything you install), that way you're insured its the correct driver version. When you double click those exe's, it wants to default to the C:\Dell\Drivers\number of exe which doesn't tell you anything of what was installed, I change the number to what its being used for in the folder path, and let it rip. I then create another folder at the download prompt naming that folder like BIOS A11 or Chipset or whatever its for. I create a dell download folder, when I select a file to download, dell likes those numbers that once downloaded, you don't have a clue what they were for. Here's a recommendation regarding driver downloads from dell, (the way I do it).

After you do the BIOS update, be SURE to install the latest system chipset as Dell has marked it as URGENT, it gives support for Windows 7 Chipset Here for your motherboard. If you have any version of Norton below 2010, uninstall it as they are uncompatible with Windows 7. Be sure to disable your AV/Security Suite as they are known to stop driver updates. Tell me more about what mouse you have? Touchpad, bluetooth etc. Did you update your BIOS to the latest URGENT update? BIOS A11 That update alone may help.
